Thank You to Mike Addis for his service on the Executive

The Institute of Master Tutors of Driving (IMTD) would like to extend our sincere thanks to Mike Addis for his outstanding contribution and dedication during his eight years of service as a member of the IMTD Executive Committee.

Mike has been involved in road safety and driver training since 1982, building on his background in the emergency services and a strong personal commitment to reducing road casualties and collisions. He became a qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in 1998, later expanding his qualifications to include Fleet Trainer (2006), and examiner roles with both IAM RoadSmart and RoSPA.

Since 2006, Mike has worked as a self-employed driver trainer, delivering a wide variety of on-road and classroom-based courses. His work has included the delivery of the NDORS suite of courses and collaboration with numerous organisations and companies in the driver education sector.

Mike joined IMTD in 2009, and since then has played a key role in supporting the mission and development of the Institute. His time on the Executive Committee has been marked by professionalism, deep industry knowledge, and a commitment to high standards in driver education and road safety.

Although he will be stepping down from his Executive role, we are pleased that Mike will continue as a valued member of the IMTD community.

On behalf of the entire organisation, we thank Mike for his many years of service and dedication, and we wish him continued success in all his future endeavours.

Meet the newest member of the executive

Katie is an ADI and accredited fleet driver trainer.

Katie completed both her Advanced Driving Test and Advanced Driving Diploma with her local IAM group, Bolton & District Advanced Motorists, winning the Hugh German Memorial Trophy for the latter. Katie spent time volunteering as a Local Observer, helping Asssociates prepare for their advanced test.

Katie is passionate about road safety, and when teaching learners, in an effort to equip them with the best knowledge and understanding possible, taught 'advanced' techniques as standard and encouraged further training post-test.

Katie now concentrates on commercial fleet training, from delivering electric vehicle familiarisation courses in the latest vans and cars, to post incident, slow manoeuvring and speed awareness training for national companies.

Katie is also a qualified safeguarding tutor and delivers safeguarding and disability awareness training to Taxi and PHV drivers.

When not working, Katie enjoys live music and borrowing friend's dogs for walks
